Sustainability
Sustainability at Daimler Truck
As one of the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, we have set ourselves a clear goal: we want to develop sustainable and future-oriented transport solutions and bring them to the road – for goods and passengers. In this way, we take responsibility for the environment, society and our employees.
For us, sustainability is not an optional task, but an integral part of our core business, which shapes our corporate behavior in a key way. We focus on the themes of Planet, People and Performance. Our guiding principle is the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
Leading the transformation
One of our long-term corporate goals is to lead the technological transformation that will enable CO₂e-free road transport by 2050. To achieve this, we will offer, among other things, battery- and hydrogen-powered trucks and buses in our markets that are CO₂e-free on the road (tank-to-wheel). From 2039, we will strive to offer only CO₂e-free vehicles in Europe, Japan and the USA.
Sustainability is what drives us
Our entire business strategy directly or indirectly influences sustainability. In particular, the transition to CO₂-free drive technologies is transforming not only our core production processes but also the responsibilities of our employees. We actively support these changes and ensure that sustainability is deeply rooted in our organization through training programs, process changes and support for innovation.
